Medicine Ceremonies

Thank you for your interest in joining us for a ceremony. The three altars we carry are Ayahuasca, Washuma (San Pedro cactus) and Temazcal (sweat lodge), and we hold each of them with immense reverence and respect. Ayahuasca
Ananda holds Ayahuasca ceremony in the Shipibo tradition: in the dark, guided by icaros (sacred songs) and the sound of the shacapa leaf bundle, later opening into medicine music. Ceremony lasts through the night and is followed the next morning by plant baths, a family breakfast and a sharing circle. Ananda has walked this path for 14 years and carries the work with deep care, from the harvesting and preparation of the medicine to the holding of the ceremony.
Washuma
Washuma, also called San Pedro cactus, is a day-long ceremony of deep connection with Mother Nature. We open the prayer on the platform at Casa Kula, hike into the mountains to hold space beside a chain of waterfalls, and return for a sound journey, sauna and plant bath as the sun sets. People often describe it as "the best day ever". We have been working with this beautiful spirit for decades.
Temazcal
Temazcal is the ancestral sweat lodge of Mesoamerica, a ceremony of purification and rebirth. In the warm darkness of the lodge, grandmother stones from the fire meet water, herbs and prayer over a series of rounds, and we finish the day with a shared lunch. Temazcal is offered by donation, and every donation goes to Caminos Canikas.
