Hello Pilgrimage Family
We are one month away from the beginning of our journey and I wanted to share a few important details, especially around arrival, logistics, and preparation.
I first came to the Sacred Valley 25 years ago on my own personal pilgrimage, an experience that profoundly changed the course of my life. Twelve years ago, Ananda and I began bringing groups to Peru to share the magic with our friends and family. Our sincere hope is that this pilgrimage will touch each of you in deep and meaningful ways, just as it does for us.
Your primary guides for this journey will be Ananda, Dustin, Leticia, Keenan, Emily, Vind and myself. What a team!!

Packing
The weather will generally be warm during the day and cold at night. Please pack accordingly:
Warm layers (long underwear—merino wool recommended, warm hat, scarf, socks)
Sun hat and rain protection
Comfortable hiking shoes/sandals or boots
Bathing suit + travel towel
Flashlight (ideally with red light setting for ceremony nights)
Journal and pen
Sunscreen
Personal first aid kit, supplements, muscle soreness relief (e.g. Tiger Balm), and joint/back support braces if needed
*Yoga mats are available at the retreat center, so no need to bring one unless you prefer your own. There will be opportunities to purchase beautiful alpaca wool items locally.
*Try not to over pack. We will change locations twice during P1 (Munay Sonqo → Lares Hot Springs → Ausangate). Please pack thoughtfully: one suitcase + one daypack should work.
P2 Packing Extras
For those joining Part 2 (trekking), please review this detailed packing list:
*New addition for P2… highly recommended for sitting around the meal tent after a long day of hiking… Crazy Creek Chair!
Cleansing & Preparation
Begin preparing now:
Gradually reduce or eliminate alcohol, refined sugar, and processed foods
Mediocre coffee is usually available on our trip. You might like to use this time to take a caffeine break. If so, try to wean off before coming.

Create an Offering
Please bring a small, organic talisman or offering. It can be made of anything you find in nature, like sticks, bark, rocks, seeds… or a bag of dried herbs from your garden. Anything that feels good to give to the mountain. We're bringing gifts for the Apus. Once you've found your offering, you can now charge it with prayer. And if prayer is unfamiliar, you can always share gratitude.
